Effective date: 26 September 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are the agreement between you and Accountable ("Accountable", "we", "us") for using the Accountable app. Please read them carefully. By installing or using Accountable, you agree to these Terms. If you use Accountable for a business, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these Terms for that business, and "you" means that business.
1. What Accountable is
Accountable is a bookkeeping and accounting app for online stores. It is installed from the Shopline App Store and runs inside the Shopline admin. With your permission, it reads your store's orders, products, inventory and customers from Shopline, advertising spend from Meta and Google, and bank transactions through our bank data provider. It uses this information to create accounting records, reports, inventory and payroll records, and a dashboard.
2. Who can use it
- You must be at least 18 years old and using Accountable for a business.
- You need an active Shopline store, and you must follow Shopline's own terms.
- You must provide accurate information during onboarding, including an email address you control. We confirm that email address with a code before using it.
3. Your account and security
- You sign in to Accountable through Shopline. Keep your Shopline account secure; anyone who can sign in to your Shopline admin can open Accountable.
- Sensitive actions, such as connecting or disconnecting a bank, disconnecting an ad account or changing the account owner email, need a code we email to the account owner. Do not share these codes with anyone. Accountable will never ask for a code by phone or chat.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us straight away at if you think someone has used it without permission.
4. Connecting other services
Accountable can connect to Shopline, Meta, Google, your bank (through our bank data provider) and Paddle for payments. You connect each one yourself on that service's own approval screen, and you can disconnect any bank or ad account at any time in Settings.
Those services are operated by other companies under their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for their availability, accuracy or conduct. If a service changes or stops providing data, related Accountable features may stop working.
5. Fees and free trial
- To start a 7-day trial, you select a plan and enter payment details in Paddle checkout. Paddle does not charge during the trial. At the end of the trial, Paddle charges the selected plan unless you cancel before the trial ends.
- The plan price, billing interval, and trial length are shown during checkout. Taxes are added where required.
- Paid plans are billed through Paddle in advance for each billing period. Payments are final and not refundable, except for errors on our side as described in our Refund Policy.
6. Your data
- You own your data. Your store, financial, customer, bank and payroll data belongs to you (or your customers and employees).
- Our permission to use it: you allow us to collect, store and process your data only to provide Accountable to you, keep it secure, and meet legal obligations. We do not sell it or use it for advertising.
- Your responsibilities: you are responsible for having the right to give us your customers' and employees' information, and for telling them how it is used, for example in your store's own privacy policy.
- How we handle it: our Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with and how long we keep it. It forms part of these Terms.
7. Not professional advice
Accountable helps you organize your finances. It is not an accountant, tax adviser, auditor or lawyer, and nothing in the app is professional advice. Reports and figures depend on data from your store, ad accounts and bank, which may be incomplete, delayed or incorrect. Review your records and use a qualified professional for tax filings, audits and financial decisions. You are responsible for the returns and filings you make.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use Accountable for anything illegal, fraudulent, or to hide the true financial position of a business;
- try to access another merchant's data, or any part of Accountable you are not allowed to use;
- probe, scan or test Accountable for weaknesses, or get around its security, except by reporting a problem to ;
- overload, disrupt or reverse engineer Accountable, or copy it to build a competing product;
- upload anything harmful, such as malware, or content you do not have the rights to (for example a logo that is not yours);
- resell or share access to Accountable outside your business.
9. Availability and changes
We work to keep Accountable available and accurate, but we do not guarantee uptime. It may be unavailable at times because of maintenance, updates, or problems with our providers or connected services. We may add, change or remove features. If we remove a feature you rely on in a way that matters, we will tell you in advance where reasonably possible.
10. Our intellectual property
Accountable, including its software, design, name and logo, belongs to us. These Terms give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use it for your business while you have an account. If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them freely without owing you anything.
11. Ending your use
- You can stop at any time by uninstalling Accountable from your Shopline admin.
- We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, if your use puts other merchants or our systems at risk, or if the law requires it. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.
- Your data after you leave: 48 hours after you uninstall, your ad data and all stored access tokens are deleted. Six months after you uninstall, everything else is deleted automatically, unless you reinstall first. Export any reports you want to keep before uninstalling.
Sections 6, 7, 10, 12, 13, 14 and 16 continue to apply after your use ends.
12. Disclaimers
Accountable is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent allowed by law, we make no promises beyond those stated in these Terms, including any implied promise that Accountable is fit for a particular purpose, error-free or uninterrupted, or that its figures and reports are complete or accurate.
13. Limits on our liability
To the fullest extent the law allows:
- we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, business interruption, or tax penalties and interest;
- our total liability for all claims about Accountable is limited to the greater of the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or 100 US dollars.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited, such as liability for fraud.
14. Your responsibility to us
If a third party makes a claim against us because of your data, your use of Accountable in breach of these Terms, or your breach of the law, you agree to cover the reasonable losses and costs we incur from that claim.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. If a change is material, we will tell you by email or in the app at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you continue using Accountable after that date, the updated Terms apply. If you do not agree, you can stop using Accountable by uninstalling it.
16. General
- Governing law: these Terms are governed by the laws of the country where Accountable is registered, and its courts have jurisdiction, unless the law where you are based gives you rights that cannot be changed by agreement.
- Whole agreement: these Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about Accountable.
- If part is invalid: the rest of these Terms still apply.
- No waiver: if we do not enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later.
- Transfer: you may not transfer these Terms without our consent. We may transfer them if Accountable is sold or merged, and we will tell you.
- Events outside our control: we are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events we cannot reasonably control, such as outages at our providers.
